The World Celebrates World Water Day

With the UN’s World Water Day celebrating its 24th year yesterday, we invite everyone to take a moment to appreciate what a great gift we enjoy here in Canada with clean and safe water.

Officially recognized since 1993, World Water Day was created to raise global awareness of just how important fresh water is to our daily lives. The UN focuses on a different theme every year, and this year they have turned their attention to the difference clean water makes in almost every job and industry all over the world. With the theme ‘Water and Jobs,’ they have also released the video below which we highly recommend you watch below.

As emphasized in the video, water quality affects every aspect of our daily lives and jobs from getting a glass of water to drink to even using the toilet, we are very lucky to have clean water and safe plumbing here in Canada. The next time you turn on your tap, consider how fortunate we are, and how we can extend a helping hand to those in need.
